Parrot Steals Scottish Man's Passport

A New Zealand parrot - perhaps with a desire to spread its wings further afield - has pinched a Scottish man's passport in a bag snatch.

Kea(Nestor notabilis)are often described as "cheeky"

The passport was in a brightly coloured courier bag in the luggage compartment of a bus heading into the popular tourist destination of Milford Sound in the Fiordland region of the South Island, the Southland Times reports.

The kea, the world's only alpine parrot, struck when the bus stopped and the driver was busy in the luggage compartment. When the driver turned around the startled kea flew away with the passport.

The bird was last seen heading into thick forest and the British passport's owner doesn't expect to get it back.

"Being Scottish, I've got a sense of humour so I did take it with humour but obviously there is one side of me still raging," said the man, who did not want to be named.

"My passport is somewhere out there in Fiordland. The kea's probably using it for fraudulent claims or something.

"I'll never look at a kea in the same way."

Kea are renowned for their intelligence and curiosity and the protected birds are also considered a pest for pulling rubber fittings and windscreen wipers from vehicles and rummaging in people's bags.

Most people only encounter wild Kea at South Island ski areas. The Kea are attracted by the prospect of food scraps. Their curiosity leads them to peck and carry away unguarded items of clothing, or to pry apart rubber parts of cars - to the entertainment and annoyance of human observers. They are often described as "cheeky".

Free Breast Implants, Liposuction & Tummy Tucks On Offer.

AN understaffed Prague clinic has signed up nurses by offering boob jobs, liposuction and tummy tucks as a bonus.

Nurses, doctors and secretaries who sign up with the small private clinic for three years can choose their free plastic surgery.

"It has been a success," Jiri Schweitzer, a manager at the Iscare clinic, said, adding the establishment was now fully staffed and had to reject dozens of beauty-hunting job applicants.

Petra Kalivodova, a 31-year-old nurse who has been working at the clinic for four years, has had a breast implants - the most popular choice among nurses - so she underwent liposuction for her signing on perk.

"I have mentioned this to colleagues and friends, and the interest in working here is huge," she said.

The clinic charges up to 75,000 koruna ($5060) for a breast implant, almost three times the average nurse's monthly wage, and up to €1880 ($3380) for liposuction.

Many Czech nurses have been tempted out of the country by higher wages offered in western European nations and the Czech health system now needs about 6000 nurses in addition to the 90,000 it already employs, according to official data.

Sara, 19, Crowned 'Germany's Next Topmodel' By Klun

Sara, a 19-year-old whose parents come from Ethiopia, became the fourth winner of Heidi Klum’s show "Germany’s Next Topmodel" on Thursday night before an audience of 15,000 in Cologne.

Sara fourth winner of Heidi Klum's show "Germany Next Topmodel"

The Munich student squared off against blonde student Mandy from Witten and brunette Marie from Gauting for the final round of the television show viewed by some 4.61 million Germans nationwide. According to Klum, the judging came down to nuances, but Sara’s distinctive look, which is “something very special,” made the difference in the end.

“She has a super figure, a super charisma – and is nice in addition to these things,” Klum said during the show, which broadcast on ProSieben.

When Klum, sporting a round baby bump, announced the winner, the 1.76-metre tall Sara broke into tears on stage as audience members went wild.

“I never thought I’d make it through the first round,” Sara said, thanking her boyfriend for encouraging her to attend a casting. More than 21,000 girls in Germany tried out for the show.

“Most of the girls fought to get here,” Klum said, “but your boyfriend had to drag you behind him.”

The live final show included a runway show with lingerie and evening gowns. Sara exhibited strong nerves and self-confidence.

Her talents won her two ad campaigns and a cover for women’s magazine Cosmopolitan. This year the winner did not get a contract with a modelling agency.

Sexual-Romping And Drinking-Driving 33-Year Old Charged

A Darwin(Australia), man has been fined $1400 and had his licence disqualified for six months after being caught drink-driving while having sex.

The Darwin Magistrates Court heard that a ute being driven by 33-year-old builder Bradley Dean Milne was seen by another driver veering onto the wrong side of a busy Darwin road one afternoon last month.

The concerned driver only realised what was going on in the ute when both cars stopped at a set of traffic lights.

Police say Milne was engaged in a sexual romp with his female passenger that continued for several kilometres.

The court heard that when Milne turned onto another road, his passenger climbed onto his lap and he continued to swerve down the road.

He was stopped by police a short time later and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.09.

Milne's lawyer said he was embarrassed and ashamed about the incident.

He pleaded guilty to five charges, including driving without a seatbelt and drink driving.

Virginity Auctioneer To Pay 66% Tax On Proceeds.

A teenage student who auctioned off her virginity in Germany is set to lose half the money to the tax office, with authorities claiming the act was "tantamount to prostitution".

Alina Percea

Romanian-born Alina Percea, who studies in Mannheim, was paid $17,900 in cash for a weekend of sex with an Italian businessman after auctioning her virginity online.

But tax officials in Berlin regard the 18-year-old's act as prostitution, which is not illegal in Germany but is heavily taxed.

"It is not a moral standpoint but a fiscal one," an official said.

"Consequently we are assessing her case and it looks likely she will have to pay around half of the sum she gained."

The computer studies student's visa allows her to work in Germany for 90 days even as a prostitute.

Percea revealed how the 45-year-old businessman took her virginity with unprotected sex at a luxury Venetian hotel.

"I liked the man and got on with him well...I hope to see the man again..and next time I won't make him pay..I was attracted to him, so I enjoyed it" she said.

Alina Percea was inspired to auction herself on a German erotic website after reading how American woman Natalie Dylan had put her virginity up for sale for £2.5million

Weight loss after hypnotised into gastric banding

A BRITISH woman lost 25kg in weight after being hypnotised into thinking she has a gastric band fitted.

Marion Cornes, 35, told UK newspaper The Sun she believes her stomach has been shrunk to the size of a golf ball after paying £780 ($1580) for five sessions with a specialist hypnotherapist.

Ms Cornes applied for the procedure after her weight ballooned to 98kg.

She was hypnotised and talked through every step of the procedure as if she were in a real operating theatre.

She was asked to handle a model of a stomach and gastric band, while the smells and sounds of an operating theatre were introduced into her room.

"Bizarrely, I can remember every part of the 'procedure' - including being wheeled into theatre, the clink of the surgeon’s knife and even the smell of the anaesthetic."

In the four months following the treatment Marion saw her weight drop to 73kg and her dress size from a 22 to 14.

After the fifth hypnosis session, Ms Cornes began to feel a tightening sensation in her stomach.

"I simply cannot eat large portions of food any more,” she said.

“If I try and eat a large portion I feel a pulling sensation in my tummy as if my stomach is stretching.

"I did manage to force down a KFC burger once but I felt really sick, as if it was stuck in my throat, and I had to lie down for three hours afterwards."

Celibacy Credo Could be Cause of Catholic Church Catch-22

A major investigation into child abuse at Catholic orphanages, reformatories and schools in Ireland has found that beatings, sexual abuse and humiliation were endemic.

The groundbreaking report, released overnight, found that the state of Ireland "colluded with religious authorities to hide child abuse".

The judicial inquiry lasted 10 years and the report chronicles the shocking conditions under which 35,000 children were held in Catholic institutions, many of them from infancy to adulthood.

It also tells of the many offending members of the clergy who were sent abroad to places like Australia, where they were allowed to restart their lives without reference to their crimes.

The report makes for horrific reading, documenting in graphic detail how thousands of children were tortured mentally and physically by the Catholic Church in Ireland over six decades.

What makes the five-volume document so disturbing is that it clearly states that both the church hierarchy and the Irish Government knew what was going on but failed to stop the beatings, the rapes and humiliation.

As far back as the 1940s, inspectors reported broken bones and malnourished children but no action was taken.

More than 2,000 witnesses testified to the judicial inquiry, claiming abuse in 216 schools and residential institutions across Ireland.

Among them was Colm O'Gorman, who was abused by a Catholic priest for three years from the age of 14 to 17.

"And in 1994, when I went back to report those crimes to the Irish Police, I discovered not just that I had been raped and abused by this priest but that very, very many other children had also been assaulted by him," he said.

"But then even more shockingly, the Catholic Church had known before they ordained him about his propensity to abuse, that they had received countless complaints over the period of time that he was abusing and they'd done nothing about it. That they'd covered it up."

Colm O'Gorman has since become a campaigner, working on behalf of the many Irish children who gave evidence to the 10-year commission.

"This report documents how countless thousands, many, many thousands, of the most marginalised of Irish children were taken from their parents by the courts and placed in the so-called 'care' of institutions where they were brutalised, sodomised, raped, abused, beaten, deprived, neglected and abandoned," he said.
"Some of the people who were so horribly violated in these institutions remain in psychiatric care and institutional care now because they simply can't cope as a result of the impact of what it was that was done to them.

Mr O'Gorman says it is an indictment on the state of Ireland but it goes much wider than that.

"Right across the world, in Ireland, in Australia, in the United States, in Europe, in the developing world," he said.

"Time and time again, priests, religious bishops, decided that the rape of a child was less significant than the ego, money and power of their institution.

"Rather than address what happened, priests, religious brothers, whoever, were simply moved on to new places. And that's the truly awful global truth of these scandals."

The publication of the five-volume report had been delayed for a number of years after the Christian Brothers religious order successfully sued the Commission in 2004, winning the right to withhold the names of all its members, dead or alive, from the final draft.

Sydney Serpent Snitches Short Scoot

A Sydney woman and her family have had an unlikely carpool passenger on a recent drive across the Harbour Bridge.

A green tree snake suddenly emerged from a vent near Lou Lineker's car's windscreen wipers.

"I was screaming to pull over," Mrs Lineker said.

"But it's pretty hard when you're on the Harbour Bridge."

The snake lingered at the windscreen for five heart-stopping minutes, before slithering back down the vent.

The mother of two says she feared the snake could reappear somewhere inside the car as they drove.

Her husband was at the wheel and managed to stay calm.

Tone Down Volume On Your iPod/MP3 Or Go Deaf.

CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta talks about the dangers of loud iPod volume on user’s hearing.

It depends on how loud the volume is and for how long one is listening. Listening in noisy environments without noise cancellation earphones poses biggest danger as user is tempted to increase volume.

He warns that listening at volume 85 dB for a prolonged and repeated period or at 100 dB for 15minutes is all that is needed to cause irreversible hearing loss.

He recommends maximum volume of 60 dB and avoid use in noisy environments.

Manufactures of iPods/MP3 should take such information into consideration in future gadgets.

Beautiful Ida Our 47-Million-Year-Old Ancestor?

The beautifully preserved remains of a 47-million-year-old, lemur-like creature have been unveiled in the US.

The preservation is so good, it is possible to see the outline of its fur and even traces of its last meal.

The fossil, nicknamed Ida, is claimed to be a "missing link" between today's higher primates - monkeys, apes and humans - and more distant relatives.

But some independent experts, awaiting an opportunity to see the new fossil, are sceptical of the claim.

And they have been critical of the hype surrounding the presentation of Ida.

The fossil was launched amid great fanfare at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, by the city's mayor.

It appears like historians should do less of excavating and start conducting faith lessons now since it will take big faith to believe in evolution theory than in any other life theory on record

HIV Now An Import/Export Affair!!

Scientists who have mapped HIV's spread across Europe say holidaymakers infected abroad are largely to blame.

By analysing samples from 17 European countries, the international team tracked the movement of the virus around the continent.

Their map shows Greece, Portugal, Serbia and Spain are big HIV exporters, with many tourists to and migrants from these countries leaving with the virus.

The UK is an exporter and importer, Retrovirology journal says.

The same is true of Israel, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland, while countries like Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Luxembourg are largely importers of HIV, the researchers say.

In Poland, HIV is contained but is spread among its inhabitants because of injecting drug-users, the research group found.

To construct their map, the researchers looked at the most common type of HIV circulating in Europe, known as HIV-1 subtype B.

They tracked its migration by creating a family tree for the virus, looking at detailed genetic characteristics that reveal how the virus has been evolving over time.

Weight Loss Incentive-British Women Buying Under Sizes.

Millions of Britain's women buy under-size clothes as an incentive to help them loose weight, a survey has found.

More than a third of women deliberately buy clothes which are too small for them because they are determined to slim down enough to fit into them one day, it found.

The research found that on average these women confessed to buying three under-size items of clothing each.

This means about 24 million dresses, skirts, blouses and trousers hanging idly in the country's wardrobes --- as their owners battle to fit into them.

The research uncovered Scots as the biggest purchases women make, with one in six claiming to own ten or more items they have bought knowing they are too small.

Christine Evans, Lloydspharmacy's weight management specialist, which conducted the research, said: " If slipping into a little black dress or a smaller jean size is something someone finds motivating, then buying an under-size garment could be a very sensible investment.

"Many people, women especially, have a daily reminder of their size in the form of an item of clothing they want to fit into one day.

"Deliberately buying these clothes could be an effective strategy."

She added: "Taking control of weight loss is all about setting realistic goals and then taking action to achieve them".

Keep On Working And Avoid Dementia

Keeping the brain active by working later in life may be an effective way to ward off Alzheimer's disease, research suggests.

Researchers analysed data from 1,320 dementia patients, including 382 men.

They found that for the men, continuing to work late in life helped keep the brain sharp enough to delay dementia taking hold.

The study was carried out by the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London.

It features in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry.

“ More people than ever retire later in life to avert financial hardship, but there may be a silver lining - lower dementia risk ”

Want To Loose Weight? Increase Vinegar Intake

Vinegar can help reduce the amount of fat accumulated around internal organs, experiments by Mizkan Central Research Institute have shown.

The experiments, the results of which are being presented at a meeting of the Japan Society of Nutrition and Food Science in Nagasaki this week, were conducted on 175 men and women with a BMI of 25-30, classed as "overweight." The test subjects were instructed to avoid heavy exercise and drink an apple vinegar-based drink twice a day for 12 weeks.

Subsequent abdominal CT scans revealed changes in the distribution of fat. In those that consumed 30 milliliters of the drink a day -- containing 1,500 milligrams of acetic acid -- fat areas decreased by an average of 6.72 square centimeters, with waistlines down 1.85 centimeters. Those that drank 15 milliliters a day also saw reductions, while control subjects who weren't given the vinegar drink saw no change.

Also, those drinking the vinegar beverage saw a drop in blood neutral fat of between 28.2-42 milligrams per deciliter.

The team is now working to determine how acetic acid works to reduce body fat. This report was carried in The Mainichi Daily News

Orgasms and Emotional Intelligence Correlate

Women who are more "emotionally intelligent" get greater pleasure from sex, research on twins suggests.

A study of more than 2,000 female twins showed that those with greater emotional intelligence had larger numbers of orgasms.

These women were better able to monitor their own and others' feelings and emotions, which is key, say the King's College London investigators.

Their findings appear in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.

“ Most women, and men for that matter, will have this problem at some stage in their life ”

Paula Hall, a sexual psychotherapist for Relate

All of the 2,035 participants completed questionnaires giving details of their sexual behaviour and performance and also answered questions designed to test their emotional intelligence.

The research found a significant association between emotional intelligence and the frequency of orgasm during masturbation and intercourse.

Professor Tim Spector, director of the Twin Research Department at King's College London and co-author of the study, said: "These findings show that emotional intelligence is an advantage in many aspects of your life including the bedroom.

"This study will help enormously in the development of behavioural and cognitive therapies to improve women's sexual lives."

Up to a third of women find it difficult or impossible to reach a climax during sex.

Lead author Andrea Burri said: "Emotional intelligence seems to have a direct impact on women's sexual functioning by influencing her ability to communicate her sexual expectations and desires to her partner."

She added that there was a possible connection with a woman's ability to fantasise during sex or her feeling of control over the act.

Miss Carrie Prejean supposedly nude pictures

Since when has it become criminal to speak ones mind? Let’s be sincere with ourselves, the sentiments expressed by Miss USA Pageant runners up Miss Carrie Prejean on her stand concerning gay marriage is what every parent is trying to teach their kids as they grow up. Majority of persons, world over would echo the same sentiments. Besides her answer was not disrespectful in any way.

About the nude pictures, I have bees searching the internet for hours trying to get any of those pictures, but the ones I see have nothing nude about them. In the much publicized picture where she is not wearing a top, she is turned away from the camera and not revealing anything more than what we have seen of all the other contestants throughout the Miss USA pageant. Let’s be rational and reasonable on this issue please.

Well, just listen to your heart, and concerning all the accusations leveled against her, you will come to a “not guilty” conclusion.

Tubby-Tubs or Toys?

Tummy tubs are a simple but great idea, for maximum baby pleasure, the conditions have to be right, warm water, engulfing to neck area and nanny’s presence. Its all about good old memories of the pleasurable nine month posture and almost floating experience. The smiles may be caused by the safety the baby experiences with the back, side and front support. My choise to categorize tubby tubs as toys is because it is not practical to do much washing in them, but what more can one ask for with that kind of smile.

The colour choice of the buckets is good as any dark coloured tub may bring about a feeling of constriction and the smile may be no more.
